About Read It Again Bookstore

A Locally Owned Bookstore Built by Readers, for Readers

At Read It Again Bookstore, books aren't just a product—we believe they’re portals to discovery, escape, and connection. Nestled in the heart of Oak Grove, Missouri, our family-owned bookstore has become a beloved destination for local readers, collectors, and curious minds.

With over 250,000 gently used books on our ever-growing shelves, we’re proud to be one of the largest independent bookstores in the region. We’ve built more than a business—we’ve created a welcoming space where stories matter and readers feel at home.

Our Story: How It All Started

Founded with a love for the written word and a dream to share it, Read It Again Bookstore began as a small community shop. Over the years, our store has expanded in both size and reputation, becoming a must-visit stop for locals and travelers alike.

Unlike chain bookstores, our focus isn’t on flashy displays or brand-new bestsellers—it’s on real books, real people, and the thrill of finding something unexpected. We've curated a space that invites you to slow down, explore, and get lost in the shelves.

And we’re still growing. Every week, our collection expands, our customer base grows, and our connections to the Oak Grove community deepen.

What Makes Us Different

We’re not your average bookstore. Here’s what sets Read It Again apart:

  • Massive Inventory: Over 250,000 titles across every genre imaginable.
  • Book Lovers Staff: Our team is passionate, well-read, and eager to help you find your next favorite book.
  • Ever-Changing Stock: Our collection evolves constantly—no two visits are the same.
  • Trade-In for Store Credit: We don’t buy books, but we do accept trade-ins for in-store credit—and we keep that credit active indefinitely.
  • Real Community: We’ve built a store where readers of all ages and backgrounds can connect and explore.

We believe in making books accessible, affordable, and exciting. Whether you're looking for a specific title or just browsing the shelves for inspiration, our knowledgeable staff is here to guide you.

Our Book Trade Policy

We’re often asked if we buy books, and the short answer is—no, we don’t. Our shelves are already overflowing with literary goodness, and our focus is on maintaining the best curated collection possible.

However, we gladly accept trade-ins for store credit. Here’s how it works:

  • Bring in gently used books.
  • We’ll evaluate them and apply credit to your account.
  • Your store credit never expires—we keep it on file, no matter how long it’s been.

It’s a win-win: you get to pass your books along to other readers and enjoy savings on your next visit.
