Meet Dan B. Fierce – Author of Cabin 187
Read It Again Books will host Dan B. Fierce, Author of "Cabin 187", with a book signing March 21, from noon to 3 pm.
"Cabin 187". A weekend in a cabin is supposed to be relaxing. A stay at this cabin could be your last. Some places harbor an evil so eternal that it spans history. This cabin is on the hunt for souls.
Thirteen stories spin a dark yarn of this accursed structure. So check in. Enjoy the gifts of solitude that Cabin 187 offers.
Just don't be surprised when no one hears your screams.one story to the next. Sometimes, a little tough love is just the ticket… to hell.
Dan B. Fierce loves humor and horror alike, and many things in between. A long-time fan of authors such as Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Edgar Alan Poe,
he lets his darker side come out to play in the macabre, "Revenge," demonstrates the tension caused by the coronavirus with "Mistaken," and gives the reader a taste of dark humor with "Warning Shot,"
all contained between the covers of the 2020 Indie Authors’ Short Story Anthology. His suspense-filled story “Abandoned Bikes” was published in Crimes and Culprits: An Anthology by the Indie Author Group. Both books were put out by Heathory Press.
He has over twenty years of experience writing stand-up and sketch comedy and over 10 years of competitive creative writing in online forums.
His work can be found in the archives of various wrestling-based "E-Federation" websites, such as XWF, WGWF, and PCW, with beloved characters such as "The Lunatic," "The Fabulous One" Dan Fierce, Nathan Saniti, and Joey "The Handyman" Handy.
He has also had some opinion pieces published in KC Lifestyles Magazine.
I'll even have refreshments to enjoy while you converse with Dan! Get a book signed!!!

Local History Expo
Oak Grove has a rich history—and we’re honored to help celebrate it. The Local History Expo, launched in 2018, is an annual event designed to spotlight historical literature, local authors, and community storytellers.
Held at Read It Again Bookstore and other local venues, this expo features:
- Local authors presenting their work
- Discussions on regional history and heritage
- Book signings and Q&A sessions
- A dedicated section of historical titles available for purchase
- From Civil War books to Missouri frontier life, our shelves are always stocked with fascinating titles that bring the past to life. This event offers readers a deeper look into the stories that shaped our state and beyond.
Held annually—check back for updated dates and author listings.

Fort Osage Partnered Programming
We also connect readers with local history through partnerships with significant nearby landmarks—like Fort Osage.
Fort Osage is a reconstructed historical outpost located just outside Oak Grove. Built in the early 1800s as a stop for Lewis and Clark, the fort now serves as an educational site that showcases Missouri’s frontier roots.
While not directly hosted in-store, we regularly promote events at Fort Osage that tie into our bookstore’s historical literature section.
Why Visit Fort Osage?
- Learn about westward expansion and early U.S. history
- View reenactments and historic artifacts
- Enjoy scenic views over the Missouri River
- Great for families, students, and history buffs
Looking for books on the Louisiana Territory, Native American history, or early American explorers? We’ve got them—just ask our staff.
